The Law Offices of Louise Bouzari is a team of professionals dedicated to fighting for children's rights. Our firm includes attorneys who focus on education law--one of whom also practices juvenile criminal defense -- and an experienced special education advocate.
Louise Bouzari– is a former high school and community college teacher. In addition to practicing education law for over 12 years, she also practiced commercial litigation at a national law firm as well as a large Denver-based firm. Ms. Bouzari is recognized as one of the top special education attorneys in the state of Colorado. She handles both education and discipline cases. Kate Gerland– is an education attorney and the mother of two special needs children. She handles both special education and discipline cases, and has special expertise in restraint and seclusion as well as private placement issues. Ms. Gerland has worked as a Montessori teacher and has also taught law at the college level. Education: University of Colorado (J.D., 1994), Stanford University (B.A., Drama, 1990). Anita Icenogle– handles both education cases and juvenile criminal defense, and also serves as a part-time judge. Prior to joining the firm she was a Colorado Public Defender. Ms. Icenogle is a certified arbitrator and has worked as a volunteer mediator. Prior to law school, she worked in the special education department at Laredo Middle School in the Cherry Creek School District. Desiree Vandelac– is a special education advocate/legal assistant and the mother of a special needs child. Ms. Vandelac provides advocacy services to parents on cases that are not headed toward due process, and therefore do not require the services of an attorney. She attends IEP meetings and coaches clients on navigating the educational system. Ms. Vandelac writes the "Ask the Advocate" column in the Autism Society of Boulder County Newsletter. Education: California State University, San Marcos (1993) BA in psychology with an emphasis on child development and multi-cultural studies.
